In this month’s expert video, Christina Caudill discusses Uranus as a trauma signature in the birth chart. Uranus is the Great Awakener and can lead us to fully embracing our potential as individuals. As a higher octave of Mercury which points to short-term memory, Uranus symbolizes long-term memories that often emerge through dreams, in past life regression or as flashes of insight. When Uranus is in stressful aspect to other planets in the chart, it has the potential to indicate traumatic experiences, in other words, difficult memories that one is unable to let go of. This can be experienced as underlying anxiety, as karmic residue or as intense conscious experiences. Christina explores Uranus through the signs and houses from the point of view of trauma, as well as the polarity point and the path toward healing.

  1. I have Uranus in Scorpio in my seventh house, square my Sun, Mars and Mercury in Aquarius and square my Moon in Leo. I have often wondered of Uranus my ruling planet’s influences and challenges when involved in this T-square. Uranus is also making some major transits to my planets right now. I am awakening and healing many of these traumas. Thank you Christina!

    • So glad you found it insightful. Ultimately, Uranus is about awakening as you said. And understanding that our experiences we often tie to ‘stories’. It can be helpful to reframe the stories surrounding these intense experience to serve the purpose of healing. xo

  2. I have Uranus in Libra 11th house, trine my moon in 3rd. Even though this a trine I still experienced trauma as you described associated. Although the trine may have helped in being able to detach from the pain and accept the experiences as “it made me stronger”.

    • That’s very insightful Kim. Since the Moon can be very receptive and sensitive, a trine from Uranus can be experienced as unsettling and traumatic. But as you said it can helpful to find the detachment necessary to unravel traumatic experiences and channel the energy in pursuits that fuel your sense of empowerment.

      • Hi Christina,

Thank you for the informative stroll around the zodiac.
Curled up on my couch under a warm blanket, I absorbed more and more.

I, particulaly, appreciated how you dealt with the polarities. You continue the stretch across the chart which is so necessary.

Uranus is 0Cancer in the 3rd, spoke of my childhood traumas with a Capricorn mother who did the best she could but after my 7th birthday was absent..a woman who of necessity went back to work…and became by and large oblivious..something I learned to be. A survival skill but one to grow out of.

nUranus is out-of-bounds which speaks to thinking & speaking out-side-of the box, plus trine SN 4a Scorpio,7th, trine Mercury 2s 7th Scorpio, sextile 1a Asc Aries, …not hardly ever seen as a good thing in my 3rd house life! Still, these aspects have been useful in my teaching children who learn differently but not in dealing with the “adults”.

Uranus is square nMoon Virgo6th, orb of -3a. I suppose this speaks to my relationship with my mother. The orb, minus 3 comes from Astrodienst. I wonder if you or anyone could explain what – (minus) indicates in a user friendly way.

Thank you so much, Christina, you are good for my nerves,

        Carolynk

  3. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!!!
I have my Uranus in the 12. House in Libra in opposition to Mars and Chiron in Aries in the 6. House (transiting Uranus just now) and in square to Mercury in Cancer in the 9. House.
    Now i understand a little more what´s going on…
Much love and graditude from me too, Christina!

  4. Thank you Christina. As you brought Uranus through the entire chart, and especially as you spoke of the opposing house balance, the nature and energies of Uranus are amplified with sweet clarity for me. I have Uranus on the ASC in a grand triangle as well it is in a square to a significant opposition. Different energies and vibrations stir Uranus within each. And after this video this duplicitous Uranus stir within my life has a reference now. Thank you.

What specific emphasis might lift with Uranus on the ASC?

My ASC is 12Leo23, Uranus is 12Leo26. Let me venture a bit here…Correct me as you see it please. I am coming in to learn Uranus…. I am coming in to remember, so core essence can ignite and take action, create to be seen (Uranus is trine to S.node/Eris/Sun/Mercury Aries9h & trine to Moon, Sag 5h.) and to release suppression(s), that which has buried me, so core essence can root, & take form, creating a unique “security” of the ancient, & of love fathoms deep (Uranus square BMLilith/Venus Taurus 10h in opposition to Neptune Scorpio4h squared to Uranus)….? I have such grandiose perspective of banal simple living. Ha!

    xmuch love

  6. thank you christina! that was very informative and does indeed help a lot to be more compassionate towards other’s healing process when you see their underlying trauma of uranus in a house.

  7. Thank you Christina! With Uranus in the 10th, rules and strivings have plagued most of my life…until that Saturn in Scorpio transit started the purification…By now the polarity of the 4th is healing my soul regardless of what’s going on out there! ☺?

  8. Thank you Christina, I have Uranus at 21 deg Leo in my 3rd house conjunct my Sun at 23 deg Leo in my 4th house and these are opposite my Mid-heaven at 21 deg Aquarius. Listening to you cover the whole chart has helped me to gain much more understanding of how it plays out in the house and the sign as well as the opposites, giving a much wider and deeper picture. Totally fascinating and making a whole load of new sense. Much gratitude xxx

  9. This video sparked a really lovely conversation between my partner and I, about letting go, surrendering our past, releasing the story. We both saw so much of ourselves in this video, and it explained so much of our life stories. It also shined a light on what wounds we’ve healed, and those tender places that still need to be loved and transmute the pain. What a beautiful video – spot on!
    In gratitude,
    Jilly
