As the Moon in Pisces forms a 90° square to the newly born Sun in Sagittarius, the scenery is changing, and from Scorpio’s transformative confrontations emerges a deep need to let go of old feelings and move into a realm of new potential, visions, and dreams. It is a feeling of being in-between, not quite there yet, yet the wait feels intolerable as the energy of fire is coming in strong with the Sun fresh into Sagittarius, a Mutable Fire sign. Any mutable phase occurs before a new season, when the Sun crosses the threshold into a Cardinal sign, marking a new chapter.
Therefore, it is a time to breathe out, wait, let go of the old and weary, and prepare for a new season.
Even though both Mars and Mercury are now direct, this particular lunar phase makes it hard to know where to focus and what action to decide on. With Mars fresh out of a long, and difficult retrograde phase, the impulse to act might be teasing you, but as the first quarter phase is a “Crisis of action”-phase, the energy of impulse can challenge any new decisions. The time is not quite ready yet. It is a sketching period, where different ideas are tried out, some are tossed, others are kept.
As this phase follows the powerful New Moon in Scorpio, we are still taking time to process and digest the insights and revelations it brought, but change, small or big, takes time.
On top of that, we are entering into the very last weeks before a new cycle of Saturn-Jupiter on the 21st of December. Everything leading up to that will have a taste of letting go. We are getting ready for something new, but what that is, is yet to be decided.
As the influx of Fire energy is increasing, we might feel lighter, more intuitive, and with a stronger sense of power. The Sun’s travel through Sagittarius is a reminder of the importance of expressing our truth, honoring our dreams and visions, and working toward finding a way of being even more authentic in the world. We need faith to do that, and now the pilgrimage begins. The challenge is to release a negative self-conception with a cleansed, purified, strong, and radiant self-expression.
The contrast between the mutable and the cardinal in this upcoming phase is evident. The impulse to initiate is followed up by a swift letting go. And as the Moon will first move through some karmic waters traveling through Aries, coming back to yourself and your values, being as independent as possible, is needed as the Taurus Moon unfolds. This Moon Phase ends with a Full Moon in Gemini, ruled by Mercury in Scorpio. The answers that you have been looking for might finally arrive! This is a time for going deep while maintaining a capacity to understand the relativity of all, and your capacity to understand the many hidden languages of your close surroundings is growing. Words might deceive, but energy never lies. A clairvoyant time lies ahead.
