When I try too hard to impress other people,
I get uptight and anxious.
But when I allow the Spirit of Life,
To use me I am no longer nervous.

Hola New Paradigmers!
In so many ways, the energy of this week swirls around our relationship to our ego. The ego, which cocreates, maintains, structures, plans, and executes our daily reality, is a super important aspect of our total being. So much so that it is tempting to identify with it and its gains and losses, attractions and repulsions, power, intelligence, and talents as our actual Self. Indeed, that is what we have been taught in school!
However, when one embarks upon a spiritual path and gains greater awareness of the soul and Spirit, the ego needs to take a more subservient role and act in accordance with soul/spirit directives and less with self-interest and belief in separation so it can function more as a channel for Spirit intentions. This brings us to the Leo/Aquarius axis and the immature vs. mature expression of the Lion/ess.
This week’s New Moon, Sabian symbol, and Sun/Neptune/Pluto yod all point to the need for us to tame our egos and align them with a higher vibration or experience conflicting ego battles, which of course, can descend as far down as physical ill health or violence. The need to dominate, control, be right no matter what, and have ownership over people, places, and things stems from the mistaken sense of ego as Self.
However, we can also take this week’s yod as an opportune time to master the ego and realize a descent of spiritual power in, with, and through us as a result. As I spoke of in the Pele Report, this is walking the knife edge between incarnating too deeply or excarnating outta here, between sinking so low into the ego that we lose sight of our Spirit-Self or letting go of our ego so much that we space out, numb out, trip out, and lose touch with reality. Finding the balance between these extremes, the middle way opens us to the genius, truth, and greatest potential that is Aquarius in its purest form.
When I try too hard to impress other people,
I get uptight and anxious.
But when I allow the Spirit of Life,
To use me I am no longer nervous.
Yes! Retrograde means retreat! So let’s retreat together, do some astrology, yoga, gong, swimming, tantra, you name it. For an interdisciplinary approach to awakening, join me at one of my workshops coming up this fall! 🌵
Regarding yods, I wanted to go into them a bit more because they show up often in natal charts and can be a lifelong challenge. The inconjunct aspect is like “ants in the pants” that just won’t go away and continues to bother you until you do something about it. Even then, it can continue as a chronic condition that you must adapt and get used to.
In many ways, it is a guilt (Virgo) / shame (Scorpio) aspect that creates stress-related health challenges. I consider this a major aspect in many ways, as it has great lessons in acceptance and fortitude that push us forward to new heights. The yod is a double whammy! As I say in the Pele Report, mastering TWO inconjuncts kicks the sextile into gear, and off you go to new heights never attained before. So go for it!
The song for this week is You Learn by Alanis!
