Hola Guardians of the Galaxy!

Mars (fighting) for Sagittarius (what is right) conjunct the south node of the Moon (maybe what WAS right in the past?). This week’s astrology (which birthed the mantra) and really, the past year and a half of the Moon’s nodes transiting through Gemini/Sagittarius has brought up the theme of truth, lies, “fake news,” propaganda, fact-checking, research, science, BS, righteousness, and judgment for all of us to wrestle, grow, understand, and evolve through.  

When looking at the “thought axis” of Sag/Gemini, we also have to consider the other mutable axis of Virgo/Pisces, which, when put together with Sag/Gemini, form the “Mutable Cross.” Virgo wants to analyze this concept of Truth in greater detail, and when it does, it bumps right into the Pisces paradox. One interesting note is that errors in judgment that can be circumstantially true are then seen as false when put into a greater context. One thing is sure, time is the test of truth as what is true will last through time while that which is not will ultimately fail.

Mars in Sagittarius is a willful drive to expand our consciousness which will, in turn, enhance our ability to grasp ever greater truths. We could take the analogy of someone in a thick jungle on a hill beside a stream. They will not know the source of the water or where the water is ultimately going, what it is, can be used for, what might make it flood or dry up. But, having a limited perspective, they may come up with all kinds of “truths” to answer those questions. And at the moment, right there, those answers may work for them for a given period of time even though they may be “superstitious,” slightly off, or downright wrong.

Put into a helicopter and elevated up out of the jungle, they may see the snow on the top of the mountain and the ocean at the foot of the valley and form different “truths” to answer those same questions. This analogy explains the paradox that there are both universal truths and personal truths, mainly due to the evolutionary condition of the soul. A first grader will have different “truths” than a college graduate, and yet, the intentions, acts, and consequences of the first grader will inevitably teach him/her ever greater Truths.

It is helpful to remember as we expand our consciousness, to also expand our hearts. The north node in Gemini ultimately seeks to bring the intuitive knowing of Sagittarius down into the left brain, communicable and understandable. Left-brain form = education. Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, reminds us that it is not what we know or don’t know, or if we are right or wrong, but if we can bridge the gaps of understanding to unite the separate, individual points of view into the cohesive Law of One. Hence, this week’s song is “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
