Eugenia and Sol Discuss the Asteroid Goddesses and Feminism

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit in on a conversation, with two female Astrologers, as they discuss feminism and its relationship to the cosmos?  Well, if you have, you're in luck!  Join Eugenia and Sol, as they have a candid, open and honest discussion about the feminine.  From the rulership of the matriarch, that harmed the patriarch.  To the influence of the Pluto Uranus Square which ignited feminism in the late 60's.  To modern day feminism.  To Beyonce, and beyond!

Enjoy this one.  It is a great conversation addressing feminist themes through the eyes of four major Asteroid Goddesses; Vesta, Ceres, Pallas Athene and Juno.  We also discuss the role of Venus and how her conjunction to Uranus squaring Pluto inspired us to have this discussion.

“We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls, you can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you would threaten the man. Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage. I am expected to make my life choices always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important. Now marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support but why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage and we don’t teach boys the same? We raise girls to see each other as competitors not for jobs or accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing, but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are.  Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political, economic equality of the sexes.”

-Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

  1. Thank you for this discussion.
I had a hard time hearing Sol. For future podcasts can you make sure your volume is up and you’re speaking into the mic?

    Thank you!
    Cary

  2. My Mercury is in Pisces…I hung in and flowed from start to finish!! Thank both of you…One of the best expert videos yet…perhaps because I have 6 planets and rising in Libra and Taurus(Venus retro in Taurus, conjunct Mars in Taurus in 7th house)..and am in my Venus return!!
Wow…so much to feel into. Eugenia…I agree ..at 63 I am in discussions daily with clients and friends, regarding how much of our lives we have worked ..all Doing, very little Being. The other day I cried a few tears to grieve those Feminine aspects I wish I had been able to have experienced and developed more…not giving up…I have good years ahead. Feeling this wonderful discussion will help me explore some important placements of these Goddesses in my natal chart. Thank you for sharing all you did about your personal placements..it did help make it REAL!

    • Thank you Lace!! That’s a deep Venus theme in your chart indeed. Me too is born with Venus retrograde..A very special placement of the Goddess.

  3. Wow, watching this one over and over, I have small kids so many mothering breaks 😉 you girls are just awesome, so much to think about and exciting avenues of inquiry to explore, really relating to so many things you both shared, much thanks for this awesome video!

  4. This is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! So much of what you both said has been rattling around in my brain. It’s so good to have my intuition and theories confirmed by you, astrologically. I’m 56 and just retired from a successful 30 year radio career (most recently at Mix 100 in Denver, Eugenia) and I’m struggling with the masculine/feminine split within myself. I’ve had a lot of pain and minor ailments all on the left side of my body; the feminine, receptive side. Anyway, in doing some energy with with fantastic women practitioners, we’ve begun to unravel this conflict, not only within me, but within our culture. Sol reinforces that it’s not an American problem, but a global one. Which of course we can see with the often barbaric treatment of women around the world. I also appreciate that you include the evolution of men in this cycle. We all are feeling the rising of the feminine energy and it’s transformative and chaotic.
anyway…thank you SO MUCH for this fascinting, honest discussion and for tying in the mythology, archetypes, planets and asteroids. It makes PERFECT sense to me as an intuitive. SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Awesome Jane! It was such a delight to speak about this with Sol, and so awesome that so many are watching and also getting a lot from this! I just posed a question on my FB about all this too and I received an OVERWHELMING response from women, stating that they want the chance to be home more, with kids more, still more! It really is fascinating! I’m calling it the New Feminist!

  5. Eugenia, Sol, Thank You! I am not even done listening to the conversation, but I feel so happy I wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU. Smiles. I could listen to you for a long time. Thank you for sharing your voices, your insights. Whenever I listen to women who lead, who have led, full lives– challenging ourselves, nurturing ourselves, questing, questioning, accepting, observing, holding space, loving, leaving, living learning– I feel like this deep thirst is slaked. Like a tall cool glass of water! Thanks again, keep on ;-*

    • Eugenia I appreciate hearing your voice speaking especially from a generational point of view. I think we all want to be free, to be in balance. It seems especially important as we seed the hologram of a new paradigm, to stay as close as possible to the most core values. Freedom, loving kindness and equal right to live for all beings.

Something that breaks my heart even as it inspires me is watching the seeds I’ve planted sprout in the weird soil of the world. Sometimes the world twists things with it’s divide and dominate paradigm. So freedom to work, use our voices, vote, own property, be sovereign becomes the necessity to compete with men for jobs and each earn half the income, for instance. The divide and dominate paradigm gets twice the labor for the same cost.

At this point I’m seeing it as a dance I/we do with life as it is and as it could be. Trying to stay alive to the dance, alive in the dance. For myself I identify as a feminist because this dance of full feminine empowerment with full masculine empowerment in the yummiest way is my core value. I dedicate my life energy, my initiations constellations and attunements, to the flourishment of JOYOUS HOLISTIC DIVINE FEMININE IN BALANCE.

  6. Fantastic!! So funny, it hit me this morning how patriarchal the astrological planets are and I pointed it out in the Pele Report….. I listen to this tonight and you are saying the same thing!! One thing I would like Sol, is the name of the author and title of the book that you mentioned about the asteroids. Thank you both so much….. great to hear women’s point of view on all this!!!! Injoy!

    • Hey K…It is not a book. But perhaps you know the astrologer: Dawn Bodrogi…she is very good with the asteroids and I think that she gets too little attention compared to others who write and talk about them..She is really, really good…She my hero!! <3

  7. Oh that was wonderful – thank you! I’m just intrigued with the asteroids – not something I was aware of but to see I have Libra in both Ceres and Juno has given me a lot to think about – was married to a Libra man and let’s just say rejection and I have spent some time getting to know each other. Also enjoyed learning about the solitude of Vesta – she’s in Aries for me and Pallas in Virgo. Spose I should say I’m a Cancer – gracious this astrology stuff must be starting to sink in if I’m conversing in planets – go me!
Eugenia it was also great to hear you talking about the goddesses again after my enlightening reading with you – especially the way you and Sol explained the receptivity of the female. Thank you!

  8. Hear Her ~

    Empower Them. 🙂
Bringing them Down to the Circle, in the Fire of Friends!

    Sol & Euginia….You are Magnificent Goddess Sista’s. )
Inclusivity is a Boat We ALL Share.
I concur our empowerment is By All of us in meditation/Contemplation to evolve the goddesses by bringing them down from the Sky to the Everyday Earth.

I would go to a conference just to have these conversations. 🙂

    • We will surely bring this work further. We both know how healing it is. And how important it is. People aren’t men or women…We are humans…And reaching a deeper understanding on the deeper aspect of being either a man or a woman heals the ancient split and all the anger and pain we have inflicted on each other.

  9. I want to learn more about asteroids now! Sol, please could you post the book and author you recommended?
I was interested to hear the discussion about being / not being able to stay home and ‘be’.
When I became a parent (a miracle after a long wait) I realised going back to work was just impossible, I did not wait half a lifetime for a child to turn around and miss a second of it. I got a lot of negative response… I was the main breadwinner and my mother and even grandmothers (more unusually) were working mothers. In the end I gave up home ownership and the ?security? of that to have those precious years and I know it was the right choice. Somehow becoming a mother gave me the assertiveness to stand up to everyone ( my husband said ‘my wife is doing motherhood as an extreme sport’). It was the best gift I have ever had in life (Neptune in the fifth-finding connection to Source through children?) The strength to do it maybe courtesy of Mars in twelfth in Cancer ( I can do this because its for someone else, as a mother, not just for me, trine Sun, feeding my spirit? Would like to explore how the asteroids have played into this and other experiences. Thanks for the inspirations.

    • Hey Yellowferret..Yes. Her name is Dawn Bodrogi http://www.innerwheel.com

    LOVE,

    Eugenia

      • I have to share this because it totally blew my mind. So after hearing your talk (loved it). I go to my father’s chart. My Athena is 11’45 Cap. My Fathers’s rising is 11’35 Cap. My Athena is 37″ below my decedent. I guess you can really come out of your father’s head. Thanks again for your discussing of this.

  11. I have been learning astrology by myself for a while and recently joined the community. Eugenia and Sol I love both of your styles!!! Eugenia, I never have had a reading the includes the asteroids before and I would love to get one. I also live in Colorado, Denver to be exact, let me know where you are and maybe I could get a reading in person with you!!!
    Thank you much ladies!!

  12. Love this! I hAve a strong juno (16°)conjunct my pluto(17°) in scorpio 11th house (and lilith is hanging out at 7°) P and Juno and also squaring my north node conjuction vesta in aquarius 2nd house! .. loved this video and going to grab those books recommended as well :).. Pallas Athene rx in 3rd house aries is also squaring jupiter rx in cancer in 7th house and squaring uranus 1st house cap! So I have alot of asteroid action and appreciated the video very much! Would either of you have anymore insight into my P and Juno conjunction ? I have had to work alot with rejection within my spiritual practise and priestess work abd I feel that it has something to do with it! I also feel like the issue goes back to previous live.. my pluto is also trining moon in 8th house cancer and sextile mercury sun saturn neptune in 1st house cap! .. thanks so much for a great video! Love working with the goddesses 🙂

    • Puha, yes that is quite a Juno placement, and it totally makes sense that you find a lot of creative juice working with the asteroids, when the resurrection of the true feminine is so deeply embedded in your chart. Thanks for sharing…

  13. Hi!

I can only listen to the first video, the other three do not work. I just wonder if it is my computer or if somthing is not working? Thank You!

  14. Hey Sol & Eugenia,

Thanks for this! This really resonated with me and explains a lot of what I’ve been going through. I thought my current extreme experiences were related to Neptune, now I realise the asteroids have been a big part of the balancing of the internal male/female, karmic clearing and soul evolution. It’s clear that these insights are helping with me understand empathy and the evolving path of the wounded healer. I’m going to attend your workshop on Saturday that I’m happy to deep dive into. Here’s my chart: 13/12/74, born Exeter, England, 4.37pm ????

  15. I loved this feminine dialogue about the asteroid Goddesses. Thank you for your openness and for being so generous with your wisdom. Listening to you both brings up feelings of comfort and pride in being part of the astrologer tribe of woman! ?✨?
