Chiron the centaur was a wise teacher who gave up his immortality to escape the pain of a wound accidentally inflicted upon him by Hercules, his own student. After descending into the underworld, he rose again, as another expression of a savior who dies and resurrects. Hence, he is now seen as the “wounded healer,” and his placement in your horoscope reflects where your soul has experienced wounding that is both painful and a pathway to liberation.

THE JOURNEY
The great astrologer and psychologist Carl Jung identified the zodiac as twelve universal archetypes residing within our collective unconscious: Rule, Sage, Innocent, Explorer, Rebel, Hero, Wizard, Jester, Everyman, Lover, Caregiver, and Creator-Artist. These twelve primary archetypes represent the range of fundamental human motivations. In your chart, Chiron reflects which one has been wounded and how it affects your life.
In this workshop, you will learn how to work with this aspect of your soul to transform it from a painful inner experience to your special gift for humankind. Your wound can become your medicine.

Kaypacha goes through the meaning of the signs, planets, houses, and aspects (16 hours total).
We will spend the first day reviewing these, but certainly, a day can only serve as a review, not an entire education. Therefore, you’ll need to listen to Astrology 101 before the course!

ASTROLOGY
Kaypacha
Kaypacha first began the study of astrology over forty years ago. Since then he has explored the synchronistic relationship between the cosmos and both earthly phenomena and our internal human experience of Self/Soul, offering astrology and yoga workshops to thousands on every continent in the world.
His diverse background includes knowledge of evolutionary, shamanic, and Uranian astrology, cosmobiology, and esoteric studies. He has been practicing and teaching kundalini yoga for more than ten years and has combined his knowledge of the Sabian symbols, tarot, meditation, breathwork, and yoga to create his own unique,heart-centered astrological methods for healing and growth.
MYTHOLOGY
Rene Cyr
Rene, naturally from Canada, has studied mythology for over 40 years and has been teaching Greek mythology for 12 years to school groups, workshops, tours, and events, as well as training staff of various Greek museums.
Rene has a strong interest in plant medicine and has studied plant medicine in Central and South America as well as Canada and Greece. He is a multimedia artist and divides his days between Evia, his painting studio, his garden, and foraging for wild medicinal plants.
Rene will share several Greek myths of Chiron and its archetypes, a subject that fascinates him!

Day 1 – Wednesday, May 10
ARRIVAL & WELCOME
5 pm: Kaypacha will open the retreat with the astrological presentation “What the @#$% Is Going On?” Kaypacha will explain the current and future energetic patterns illuminated by the astrology of our times with an emphasis on Chiron in Aries. The planetary configurations reflect (as in are synchronistic with) the dynamics we are dealing with in both the collective unconscious level and our personal lives. If you are familiar with his weekly astrological forecast on YouTube titled “The Pele Report,” you might consider this a two-hour extended version of that thirty-minute weekly report.
7 pm: We will enjoy a delicious dinner by the sea.
Day 2 – Thursday, May 11
UNDERSTANDING OUR HOROSCOPE
10 am – 1 pm
After breakfast, we will begin our day with an opening circle, introductions, and the “Astrology of the Zodiac,” a yogic journey through the signs. Kundalini yoga practice just before lunch.
1 pm: Lunch and time to enjoy the beach or pool.
3 pm:
We will continue with the second half of the day’s workshop, reviewing the signs, planets, and houses with an emphasis on Pluto, the Moon’s nodes, and Chiron. Pluto rules the root chakra, the kundalini life force, and his placement in the horoscope, along with the Moon’s nodes, reveals our soul history and intentions for this life.
6 pm: Dinner

Day 3 – Friday, May 12
CHIRON & THE HERO/HEROINE’S JOURNEY
8 am: Kundalini yoga before breakfast.
10 am – 1 pm:
After breakfast, Kaypacha will offer an in-depth analysis of Chiron, the wounded healer, and what he signifies in your natal chart. We all have our own personal “Achilles heel” We all share in Chiron-ic pain, suffer various aches, and have been mistreated, disempowered, and victimized by something we do not always understand. These challenges often tempt us into adopting a victim consciousness. But through the fighting spirit of Chiron, now transiting Aries, we can find inspiration and ask, “What is the highest outcome for this?” This is the hero/heroine’s journey that transmutes our pain into our medicine.
1 pm: Lunch and time to enjoy the beach or pool.
3 pm:
Kaypacha will explore the hero/heroine’s journey described by the sign, house, and aspects of everyone’s natal Chiron. Together we will gain a deeper insight into the nature and working of Chiron through each other’s personal experiences.

Day 4 – Saturday, May 13
FULL-DAY BOAT EXCURSION
8 am: We will pack a lunch and board our private boat bound for Lichadonisia, the “Seychelles of Greece,” a cluster of exotic islands scattered with ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine ruins close to the coast. We will cruise through these exotic islets passing over shipwrecks and possibly seeing monk seals!
Delicious lunch on the beach, and return to the hotel around 4 pm.
Lichadonisia formed after volcanic activity while a large part of the islands sank from an earthquake in 426 B.C. Their name comes from Lichas, the servant of Hercules. According to mythology, Lichas handed Hercules the tunic of Deianeira, which was poisoned by the blood of the Hydra (the same that poisoned Chiron). As a result, Hercules’s skin began to burn, and he held Lichas responsible and hurled him to the sea. Legend says the Lichades islands were formed from his body! The island has much history, from ancient Greek battles to WWII battles. A sanctuary of ancient pagans as well as Byzantine monks and modern recluses.
