Full Moon 20º Sag June 11, 2025

by SOL W JONASSEN

〰️ A culmination of tension 〰️

As we face a wild and potent Full Moon in Sagittarius squaring the nodal axis, there is another huge square that is now in its final stages, namely the Saturn-square-Jupiter. This square set its mark on 2024 and it is right now, for the third and final time, happening while Saturn conjuncts Neptune and Jupiter ties into Mercury from cardinal Aries to Cancer. This is a massive realization around reality versus ideals. Even if we have had no idea where the road is taking us, this Full Moon might shed some light as to what is the next, natural step on our paths.

We are at some sort of crossroads where we will realize that there is a need for a certain change, and where there previously was a closed door, a new, and open one, can appear. This is a very creative lunation, but it is filled with creative tensions as the cosmological vista reveals two more squares: The square from Mars to Uranus, waking up an almost insatiable need for actual change, and Venus to Pluto, creating a creative crisis relating to our sense of worth and physical survival.

The impact of the Full Moon and the coming two weeks until the New Moon will be strongly felt. This is a reckoning of how poor leadership, both in our personal lives and collectively, can be a disaster. Bad decision-making, unstable authorities, and grown-ups who act like kids have been part of the observations we have all made during these long-lasting squares between the two «papas in the sky,» Jupiter and Saturn. Saturn tempers Jupiter, and Jupiter encourages Saturn, but when they are in a square, this natural connection is somewhat strained. And they could end up in a fight instead of a sane discussion. These two, when in alliance, often bring up moral and legal issues that we need to deal with, and it is not necessarily comfortable.

On a spiritual level, there can be a need to let go of inner resistance when it comes to personal and creative potential. With an active Venus-Pluto square still stirring, themes of abundance, love, and appreciation can surface, and we can feel held back by what feels like invisible forces that deny us the truly good life.

As Mars and Uranus are almost in a perfect square, there is a certain tension that stirs not only in the collective but also in our own personal nervous systems. The urge to be free and have more opportunities in life can be part of what we are currently working on, and there is a need to free up the parts of our identity that have accepted a limited version of ourselves. Uranus helps us take a step back and breathe before acting on the Martian impulse, but as we have seen lately, the world stage is filled with anger that has been unleashed in more than one way. The combination of all these squares hints at creative tension, but it does not always take the form we envision when we first set out on our mission for more freedom.

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon, albeit slightly nebulous, hints at this need to be objective as well. «A child and a dog wearing borrowed eyeglasses» reflects the need to study one’s own behavior in order to be free from the purely instinctual. It is not always easy to lay down defenses and actually listen, but this particular Full Moon encourages such behavior.

There is an opportunity with this lunation to toss off old ideas that previously were held to be true, but it takes real courage to do so. The battle between the lower self and the higher self can be the reality for a lot of us right now, and there can be a deeply felt realization to not be the one who stands in the way of one’s own progress. It is time to let old mindsets go.

It is hard to see where the world and, maybe also, one’s own life is going, but as Jupiter has now started its year-long haul through Cancer, we might all realize that it isn’t necessarily the tough and pushy path that helps us achieve our dreams. As this Full Moon unleashes an enormous amount of energy, it can be a soothing thought that the upcoming New Moon will herald better news. So until then, stay grounded, take good care of yourself, and use this opportunity to let the tensions you have been carrying be gently released.

Because this Full Moon is a culmination of tension that has been building for a long time.

And even if we now observe some rather dark aspects of it, in your own life, and in the oasis of your own living room, create a safe haven for you to envision a life of opportunity and love, instead of being sucked into history of hatred.
