〰️ Reverie of years long past 〰️
This week’s Full Moon flows us right into a brand new 18-month cycle of the Taurus/Scorpio axis being highlighted by the 2022 and 2023 Eclipses. This is a big shift that will move us out of the Gemini/Sagittarius realm of the mind, where ideas, beliefs, and “truths” have been heavily emphasized over the past two years on an immensely vast scale. We have been submerged in a sea of “social media” and the diversity of perspectives that exist “out there.” For some, even sickened by the dis-ease of it all…
As the Moon’s nodal axis changes into Taurus/Scorpio, our psycho-spiritual focus is switching gears. As the Universe dances and the tides turn, so do we.
The axis of Taurus/Scorpio takes us out of the head and concepts and into the body, where the feelings, sensations, and instincts reside. It’s primal, not mental. I think we all could use a break from the cognitive overload of these past couple of years!
It’s about getting real and honest with the truth of your needs, desires, and feelings. It’s about embodied truth, not just intellectualized truth, concepts, and realizations. What do you really want? What do you really need? It’s where the blood, sweat, and tears of lived experiences become a realized sense of self, a feeling inside, a knowing, a truth on the deepest sense of being.
It’s one thing to have an idea of what a hard drug does to the consciousness, what a sexual experience does to the psyche, or what having or not having enough money does to the identity. Still, it’s an entirely different quality of understanding to have a direct experience. This is the Scorpio/Taurus realm, where we are changed, not just in the mind, but on the level of the soul, by the power of the experiences we create and where our desires, wants, needs, and feelings guide us into a deeper understanding of ourselves.
“Self-preservation, survival, transformation, pure instinctual urges, alchemy, union, personal power and powerlessness, self-mastery, inner and outer resources, soul mates, letting go & holding on, the give and the take of life” – these are just some of the archetypes that are coming online to shape and manifest the lessons underway in our lives (and throughout the next 18 months).
So, in a way, it seems perfectly timed and powerful that this Full Moon ushering in these emotionally charged archetypes would be in the uber feeling sign of Cancer. Even the headiest among us will be challenged by the currents of deep feelings and reveries of the past during this Full Moon.
Cancer is the queen of feelings. Her essential role is to nurture with love the wounded and inspired heart alike. It is all about BEING the space that is alive with emotions. “Feeling is healing” is the Cancer mantra! But acquiring responsibility is necessary. This is the path. Emotional responsibility equals emotional maturity, and it’s a process.
Cancer represents the hearth and home, which radiates and contains, which supports and nourishes, so that life, and so that we can feel supported and thrive. It is the divine mother and the creative womb that births new life into form. From out of everything that has ever been comes the future.
Cancer holds space for eternal bonds, cherishing family, and the soul connections that unite us and move us to create kingdoms and legacies for one another. We give of ourselves so that others may thrive. This is Cancer.
Now don’t get me wrong, she has her shadow! Some of the darkest at that, moody, brooding, emotional manipulation, incessant neediness, crippling insecurity and fear, a grip that never lets go, smothering/mothering, and victimizing.
The message of this Cancer Full Moon has much to do with being cautious of the traps that emotional immaturity can manifest. Take the opportunity to align yourself with nurturing your heart and those around you. What would the divine parent do? For yourself? For another? What would be the most nurturing, responsible, loving thing to do? These are some of the questions lingering in the light of this week’s Cancer Full Moon.
