Hola Spiritual Activists!

As the eclipse gets closer and closer, we can go down deeper and deeper. Get to the bottom of things. In the Pele report, I spoke more to society and humanity getting down to the bottom of things, but as astrologers, we know that “As above, so below, as without, so within.” It is always easier to point the finger and “name the beast” out there, in the world, in others, or another person (usually the closest), than find, see, name, and acknowledge the beast within. During this lunar eclipse, we may also find the dark, “evil” side of ourselves, and the challenge is to reconcile that inner beast with the self-concept we hold of ourselves – who we think we are or who we want to be.

During such times, astrology/nature comes to the rescue once again. All evolution, all growth, goes through cycles upon cycles upon cycles. The Sun rises and sets, the light comes, and it goes, the seasons give birth, grow, blossom, fruit, drop their seeds, die, hibernate, and birth again the following year. I see these cycles as creating a spiral, repeating in some ways but never the same. Just as the Sabian symbol for this lunar eclipse speaks to “rebeginnings,” let’s remember that the rebeginning never starts from the same place twice because there is growth, consciousness, maturity, and love that is birthed/realized through each cycle and therefore changes the outcome, which in turn, moves the restarting point. On and on life goes!

So let’s take advantage of this eclipse season (the longest actual lunar eclipse in almost 500 years) to witness not only what is happening out in the world but to witness ourselves, all of ourselves. It’s time to be your own best friend and have compassion for yourself, knowing that you have a “beast” within, knowing you’re not perfect, knowing that you’ve made mistakes and probably will again. Seeing and naming the beast is crucial for growth and change to happen.

Take pride in the fact that you are brave enough to acknowledge your faults, knowing it is the only way to begin to work on them. Then, GIVE YOURSELF THE GIFT OF TIME. It’s OK, you’re OK, people will be OK, there is time to work, heal, and improve, and there will be another time for you to try again and do better… such is life. This season will give way to another, so make the most out of it, see all you can see, own all you can own, knowing that the more clay you have to work with, the bigger the vessel you will be able to create! It’s just best to start where you really are, and that is what life and other people are here to show you.
