THE JOURNEY
We will begin our journey with the security and comfort of the professional tour company Baska Rota, our private guide Murad, and Gonca Kalabalik, a native Turkish graduate of the New Paradigm School of Astrology who is familiar with Gobeklitepe. We will tour 15 ancient sites and 2 museums, tuning into the Sabians and witnessing the “oldest known megaliths,” small buildings, quarries, and stone-cut cisterns.
While visiting many sites, we will mainly focus on Gobekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe. These sites are featured in the Ancient Apocalypse Netflix series by Graham Hancock and are of immense historical/spiritual significance (particularly episode 5.)
We will then take a boat ride to see Halfeti, an ancient submerged, magical town, before heading up to the top of mount Nemrut (the highest mountain in Turkey) just in time to witness the Lunar Eclipse! Be sure to read the schedule below for all the details of what we will be experiencing.

9 AM – 1 PM We will gather and begin delving into our charts with Kaypacha. Together we will review the 12 signs of the zodiac using description, mythology, movement, and music.
1 PM Lunch
2 PM Mardin is a beautiful historic city in Southeastern Anatolia situated on the top of a hill overlooking the Mesopotamian Plateau, also known as the fertile crescent, the cradle of civilization.
Mardin is known for its fascinating architecture consisting of heavily decorated stonework cascading down from the hilltop. We will start exploring Mardin with a tour of The Monastery of Deyrulzaferan (Mor Hananyo Monastery).
This place holds a 4000-year-old temple of the Sun. We will tour the monastery and have time to meditate.
Zerzevan Castle will be our next stop. Zerzevan Castle has been described as a special place for ritual. After we experience and feel the castle’s energy, we will visit the streets and markets of Mardin, full of spices, silver and copper handcrafts, and various organic products, including soaps.
We will have dinner at the hotel. After dinner, there will be time for another walk on the beautiful streets of Mardin.

9 AM – 1 PM Kaypacha will go over the meaning of the planets and houses of your chart, and we will begin exploring how to use the Sabian symbols in chart interpretation. Bring your notepad and pen!
1 PM Lunch
2 PM Today, we will travel to the east part of the city. Midyat is a town in the Province of Mardin with unique traditional architecture.
After Midyat, we will visit Mor Gabriel Monastery and Magara Village. Magara village is a Yazidi village with a lot of history and energy. We will perform a ritual in the village. After touring/shopping in Midyat, we will return for dinner at the hotel and another evening stroll through the city.

Day 4 – May 4, 2023
DARA – MARDIN MUSEUM

9 AM We will spend the morning looking at Pluto, the South Node of the Moon, and the Moon herself, the three points Kaypacha uses to understand your soul history from your birth chart. More advanced astrologers will be given more points in the chart to explore too!
1 PM Lunch
2 PM We will visit the Ancient City of Dara. In the early Byzantine times, Dara was a vital fortress in Northern Mesopotamia, near the border with the Persian Sassanid Empire. Because of this strategic location, in the 6th century AD, Dara witnessed many military conflicts. We will visit Necropolis and Acropolis.
After an exciting visit to Dara, we will drive back to the Kasımiye Madrasah, the very first astronomy school in the world, and we will see a great depiction of the Tree of Life. Madrasah will also give us the most interesting architectural views in Mardin.
Dinner at the hotel followed by an evening walk.

Day 5 – May 3, 2023
TEK TEK DAĞLARI MILLI PARKI – KARAHAN TEPE – HARRAN – ŞANLIURFA

After breakfast, we will head to Urfa. On the way, we will explore the Tektek Mountains where we will visit Karahan Tepe, Göbekli Tepe’s sister site, where some of the most extraordinary discoveries anywhere in the world are being made at this time. We will explore its astronomically aligned stone enclosures and its estimated 250 T-shaped pillars.
Then we will visit the ancient Sabian City Sogmatar with its seven planetary temples. Şuayb in the Tek Tek Mountains National Park and Han El-Ba’rur, the Seljuk caravanserai.
Our next stop will be Harran, the home of the Sabians and the Sabian brotherhood, where we will have lunch. Then, after photos and a coffee break, we will continue to Urfa.
After dinner in Urfa, we will take a city walk to the city center and Balıklıgöl (Pool of Abraham), where we will see the Sabean Astronomy Tower, believed to be the first astronomy tower in the world.

Day 6 – May 4, 2023
GÖBEKLI TEPE
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and the day’s first visit is to Göbekli Tepe, the zero point of time. Gobeklitepe is a significant World Heritage historical site that has seen the beginning of civilization at least two times and changed history as we know it. The temples date back to 9600 BC. Neolithic shamans probably performed rituals in these mysterious temples near the end of matriarchal times.
For more background on Karahan Tepe and Gobeklitepe, we suggest you watch the Ancient Apocalypse series by Graham Hancock on Netflix episodes 5 and 7 specifically!
The astronomical meaning of the carved symbols have cosmic and celestial connotations. It’s possible that these temples were built as observatories to observe celestial objects like planets and constellations. We can undoubtedly say they were used to hold equinox rituals as far back as the Age of Leo! Now, we have the chance to experience them six zodiacal ages later. Standing in this new Age of Aquarius, we can look into the eye of Leo and feel how the stars have guided us through time.
It is magnificent to witness where humans started observing the sky and carved symbols into stone before “civilization” when they were hunter-gatherers. They built temples to get to the sky! Our journey is to the heart of time, where we will feel the earth beneath our feet and awaken our hearts to ancient knowledge. We intend to not only know the sky and planets but to feel how they have always guided us and always will.
We will let them whisper their knowledge straight into our hearts, see where astrology was born, and do rituals to feel our way into the wisdom of the stars. Then, like Mark Edmond Jones, who channeled the Sabians themselves, we will follow in their footsteps to reach our deepest self, stardust, as Carl Sagan once said.
Afterward, we will return to the center of Şanlıurfa and visit the Schmidt House. Archaeologist Çiğdem Köksal- Schmidt is Klaus Schmidt’s wife (who discovered the site and was the former manager of Göbeklitepe excavations.) Though Klaus Schmidt has passed away, Çiğdem still lives in Urfa. After visiting the Schmidt House, we will visit the Urfa Archeology Museum.
We will have dinner at a restaurant in town, and after dinner, Kaypacha will discuss the Sabians, the Sabian Symbols, and how to use them.

HALFETİ – KAHTA – NEMRUD SUNSET – ADIYAMAN
After breakfast, we will visit Halfeti and take a fantastic boat tour on the Tigris river, including lunch. We will then proceed to Adıyaman.
After dinner at the hotel, we will climb Mount Nemrud, the site of the original Tower of Babel and the Mountain of God in biblical tradition.
We will gaze out over the terrestrial Paradise that the pre-Roman king of Commagene enjoyed to observe Wesak Full Moon Lunar Eclipse! In addition, we will try to see the world’s first horoscope, carved in stone, which is kept under lock and key near the top of the mountain.

ZEUGMA MOZAIK MÜZESI – GAZIANTEP – ANTALYA
After breakfast, we will set off for Gaziantep and visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum.
After lunch, we will have free time for shopping and set off for the airport to say our goodbyes, taking the ancient star wisdom with us to share far and wide.

While touring the sacred sites:
- We will have early morning starts.
- The weather will be beautiful in Spring. Bring comfortable shoes, a raincoat and something warm as the nights might be chillier and Nemrud is cold.
- The different sites we will be visiting are distant from each other, so we will spend considerable time traveling on the bus.
- The hike up Mount Nemrut (2,134m high / 7,001 ft) requires good physical condition. If you suffer from any medical conditions that might make it challenging for you to make it to the top, you will have to notify us in advance.
- We will sleep in different cities and change hotels frequently, having to pack and unpack a few times. Therefore, we recommend that you pack light.
- Please pack a yoga mat!
A negative Covid test (of any type) within 72h. is suggested to participate in the workshop. We want to create the safest bubble possible so that everyone can relax and interact with each other. We won’t ask to see your results, however, please take this as your personal responsibility towards the group. This will be a maskless event.
In addition, we ask that anyone planning to attend the workshop, or the country itself, be mindful and consider changing their travel dates if they show ANY signs of the COVID-19 related symptoms and/or if they suspect having come in contact with someone who has/will test positive for the virus. ZEUGMA MOZAIK MÜZESI – GAZIANTEP – ANTALYA
After breakfast, we will set off for Gaziantep and visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum.
After lunch, we will have free time for shopping and set off for the airport to say our goodbyes, taking the ancient star wisdom with us to share far and wide.
NOTE: To return to the city, please book your flight from Gaziantep to Istanbul (It leaves at 5:45 PM with Turkish Airlines)

While touring the sacred sites:
- We will have early morning starts.
- The weather will be beautiful in Spring. Bring comfortable shoes, a raincoat and something warm as the nights might be chillier and Nemrud is cold.
- The different sites we will be visiting are distant from each other, so we will spend considerable time traveling on the bus.
- The hike up Mount Nemrut (2,134m high / 7,001 ft) requires good physical condition. If you suffer from any medical conditions that might make it challenging for you to make it to the top, you will have to notify us in advance.
- We will sleep in different cities and change hotels frequently, having to pack and unpack a few times. Therefore, we recommend that you pack light.
- Please pack a yoga mat!
A negative Covid test (of any type) within 72h. is suggested to participate in the workshop. We want to create the safest bubble possible so that everyone can relax and interact with each other. We won’t ask to see your results, however, please take this as your personal responsibility towards the group. This will be a maskless event.
In addition, we ask that anyone planning to attend the workshop, or the country itself, be mindful and consider changing their travel dates if they show ANY signs of the COVID-19 related symptoms and/or if they suspect having come in contact with someone who has/will test positive for the virus. Given that the NPA team is so small, we can protect each other by being mindful.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR TURKEY
- Please arrive at Mardin Airport before 3 PM on April 29. We will arrange an airport transfer for you.
- You can get your e-visa upon your arrival in Turkey.
- Turkey is open to tourism, with no more Covid requirements.
IMPORTANT: Please note that everything is subject to change due to the constantly changing laws and regulations regarding Covid and travel. We suggest you purchase refundable/changeable travel tickets and acquire travel insurance.
