Understanding your soul’s blueprint is akin to an architect drafting designs and blueprints from which a house is built. Similarly, your unconscious spiritual soul designs what it needs to evolve and reveals it in your natal birth chart. As such, the art of astrology is understanding the symbolic language of the stars to grasp where we have been, are, and wish to go on a soul level.

We know that becoming a proficient astrologer requires practice in doing readings. That is why at the end of your Cosmonaut curriculum, we offer various Study Group sessions, led by Kaypacha & Sol, consisting of one of you choosing a Cosmonaut student and interpreting their chart. After your chart interpretation, others on the call will offer their insights, additions, and further discussion, followed by the teachers filling in any final details.
As part of the Study Group, Kaypacha occasionally assigns homework to aid in integrating the theory and enhancing your learning journey.
These sessions will take place towards the end of the year.

Your astrological birth chart is a virtual blueprint of your soul, and this 16-hour workshop covers “the bare bones of chart interpretation.”
- Review the 12 zodiac sign archetypes, the planets, including Chiron, and the 12 houses.
- Pluto: The soul, or “theme” the soul has been working on. As Pluto moves slowly, Pluto’s sign position describes your “soul group,” those your age or near, and the qualities you have developed and seek to bring forth. Besides, and more individual, Pluto’s house position shows the area of life that you personally have grown through and seek further discovery.
- The South Node of the Moon, or “plot,” shows the action line or how you developed the themes revealed through Pluto’s placement. It can be likened to your “job” in previous lives, while Pluto is what you needed to know to do that job. I call the Moon the “character.” She reflects where you are comfy cozy, familiar, and have your Ph.D.!
- Looking toward the future, the Pluto polarity point, North Node of the Moon, and Ascendant. We’ll combine these three factors, which I consider as “the bottom line” (PPP), “how to get there” (North Node), and “school” you’re in (Ascendant), to help you get there.
- Exceptions to the rule. You know there’s got to be some! We’ll look at planets conjunct either, or both, the South and North Nodes of the Moon as well as square to the Nodes with examples taken from the group.

- The Planetary Cycles of a Human Lifespan. Kaypacha uses the age factor to determine the major turning points in a life cycle.

Year 3: Certification
Work directly with Kaypacha & Sol to advance your expertise in chart interpretation, counseling techniques, evolutionary stages, planetary pairs, and beyond. Through four in-depth modules, interactive homework, personalized mentoring, and real client chart readings, this program marks the pinnacle of your journey with the NPA School of Astrology. Put your Cosmonaut training into action as you prepare to launch your professional astrology practice!
Join Sol Jonnasen and Kaypacha in this Exclusive Annual Program! Designed to guide a small group of Cosmonauts through advanced chart analysis and counseling techniques for working with new clients, this program offers:
- Monthly Sessions: Sol will lead a 2-hour class each month, introducing new material and assigning homework, followed by a 1-hour review session two weeks later. This cycle continues for four consecutive months.

Classes will be held on Saturdays, allowing Sky Pilots to attend the Sunday Webinars at the school.

This course is offered just once a year or when the next group of Cosmonauts is ready to advance to Sky Pilots.
Curriculum:
Evolutionary Stages
Evolutionary astrology is based on three developmental stages: consensus, individuated, and spiritual. Each archetype and aspect manifests differently within these stages. For instance, there isn’t just one type of Aries; there is Aries on the consensus, individuated, and spiritual levels. Identifying an individual’s stage of development isn’t easily discerned through the chart alone. Thus, we must actively employ our intuition to sense their position and adjust our interpretation accordingly. This is a lifelong study, and the key is to establish a solid theoretical foundation on these stages, allowing it to become a reflective meditation that brings us closer to the true essence of evolution. In this class, we will explore these stages, complemented by written exercises to demonstrate comprehension.
Planetary Pairs
Spending countless hours preparing a chart should not be necessary to grasp its essence. Fortunately, we have planetary pairs to aid our understanding of waxing and waning aspects within a chart. Through a comprehensive understanding of the various phasal dynamics, we can better comprehend our clients’ evolutionary journey and identify which aspects are in a harvesting state. This class will delve into numerous planetary pairs, utilizing different chart examples and exercises to deepen our understanding of these concepts and decipher the karmic work at play.
Transits & Progression
In this session, we will emphasize the importance of incorporating secondary progressions into readings to grasp the timing of events accurately. Neglecting progressions may result in overlooking the most impactful transits a client is undergoing. Understanding the progressed chart and integrating it into our readings provides a secure foundation from which we can truly grasp our client’s life events. Specifically, we will explore lunar progressions and the significance of retrograde planets going direct by progression.
Counseling Techniques
As counselors, it is crucial to be mindful of the power of our words and sensitive to underlying issues such as fear and anxiety. Effective counseling involves active listening and responsiveness. While astrology offers valuable insights, it’s fundamentally a dialogue between two individuals rather than a monologue by the astrologer. Asking insightful questions allows us to fine-tune our readings and build trust and rapport with our clients. This class will explore counseling techniques and the ethical responsibilities of the astrologer, empowering us to navigate client interactions with confidence and empathy.
You will perform a minimum of two real client practices facilitated by us, during which you will receive feedback, mentoring, support, and encouragement from Kaypacha and Sol.
Private, one-on-one mentoring sessions with Kaypacha will offer invaluable support in identifying your strengths in chart interpretation while pinpointing areas for improvement.
Once certified, we will celebrate your achievement by presenting it to the rest of the students in the Sunday school class. Additionally, you’ll receive a personalized printed certificate signed by Kaypacha!
Once you’ve successfully completed all three levels, Kaypacha will certify you as a New Paradigm Astrologer and feature you on our website to help grow your practice. Additionally, you’ll receive a complimentary subscription to the New Paradigm School of Astrology for as long as you remain proactive in the school. This subscription provides ongoing support for your studies, access to a vibrant community of fellow astrology enthusiasts, and opportunities to connect with potential clients.

By this point, you’ll also have a strong grasp of interpreting transits and progressions, discussing past and current events, and offering insights into what lies ahead. As you explore relationship astrology, you’ll be equipped to help people recognize their strengths, vulnerabilities, and ideal partner qualities, supporting them on their journey toward self-realization. Astrologers are often called upon as “last-resort counselors,” so you’ll be ready to offer guidance on a variety of topics, from family and love to finances, career, soul purpose, and beyond.
Before you apply to Sky Pilots, you must:
- Complete the New Paradigmers & Cosmonaut curriculums.
- Read four books: two from New Paradigmers and two from Cosmonauts (The Inner Sky, The 12 Astrological Houses, Pluto V1+2).
- Complete the workbook for the Discover Your Soul’s Purpose course.
- Complete homework assignments.
- Complete a Study Group reading.
Certification requirements:
- Attend Sol’s Chart Mastery course and complete the homework assignments.
- Conduct a chart reading for a client (organized by us), record an hour-long interpretation, and submit it for faculty review.
- Participate in a three-way call to observe Kaypacha conducting a reading for the same client. Compare your interpretation with his, then receive one-on-one feedback and mentoring to refine your skills.
- Conduct a second chart reading for a new client, with the expectation that any gaps from the first reading are addressed.
- After two approved readings, you may qualify for certification.
If the faculty feels you need more practice after two readings and feedback, you’ll be asked to conduct a third reading at no extra cost. If, after three readings, the faculty believes more instruction is needed, you can continue this process for an additional fee of $200 per reading.
Your tuition includes participation in Sol’s Chart Mastery course and two client/mentoring sessions with Kaypacha and a faculty evaluation. Upon certification, you’ll be listed as a New Paradigm Astrologer on our website.
Admission to the Sky Pilot program is required before entering the certification process. To apply, submit a recorded chart reading performed in a Zoom Class or Study Group and an admission fee of $200. We recommend taking your time to study, practice readings, and seek feedback from other New Paradigm astrologers before applying.
To access the Certification Program, you must be an enrolled and active Cosmonaut at the New Paradigm School of Astrology.
Payment Plan: Once admitted, you can split the remaing $1,300 into 10 installments.
(This does not include your ongoing monthly Cosmonaut enrollment tuition fee.)

Frequently Asked Questions
Evolutionary Astrology embraces paradigms and methodologies that specifically measure the growth of the soul from life to life. These methods invariably focus on the planet Pluto and its relationship to the Moon’s nodal axis. While it is composed of a set of specific formal methodologies, evolutionary astrology is ultimately characterized less by a technical approach than by a set of philosophical principles defined by natural law. Different evolutionary astrologers may use somewhat different interpretive methods, but they can always be recognized by a devotion to the following core perceptions:
- An acceptance of the fact that human beings incarnate in a succession of lifetimes.
- An acceptance of the fact that the birth chart reflects the evolutionary condition of the soul at the moment of incarnation.
- An acceptance of the fact that the birth chart reflects the evolutionary intentions of the soul for the present life.
- An acceptance of the fact that the circumstances of the present life, both materially and psychologically, do not arise randomly, but rather reflect the evolutionary intentions and necessities of the soul.
- An acceptance of the fact that human beings interact creatively and unpredictably with their birth charts; and that all astrological symbols are multi-dimensional and are modulated into material and psychic expression by the consciousness of the individual.
- An acceptance of the fact that human beings are responsible for the realities they experience, both internally and externally.
- A respectful intention to accept and support a person seeking astrological help, no matter the evolutionary state in which such an individual finds himself or herself.

We host our live webinars on Sundays at 12 PM Pacific. They typically last between 90 to 120 minutes, though occasionally they may run longer.
Exceptionally, we may adjust the standard day/time for a given session, but we will always communicate it to you a few days before by email.
All recordings are available within 24-48 hours after the live session and can be accessed through your Online Classroom.
After many years of running the school and teaching astrology, we’ve designed a comprehensive 3-year study plan to guide you from beginner to practicing astrologer. This plan includes 3 levels, each with a set curriculum of classes and recommended reading.
The New Paradimers & Cosmonaut program offers self-paced at-home study, supported by a yearly webinar schedule, revision sessions, Study Groups, and the Telegram chat group for Q&A. You can follow the group’s pace with our structured program or tailor your studies to fit your schedule and interests. Replays of missed webinars are available to help you catch up. On average, completing each program takes about 12 months.
In the Sky Pilot program, you’ll participate in a 4-module specialized course and conduct a minimum of 2 real-life client readings, followed by mentoring with Kaypacha. While you can work at your own pace, we recommend completing this phase within 6-8 months.
As a New Paradigmer, you’ll get instant access to All About the Signs, All About the Planets, All About the Houses, and All About the Aspects. Segments 1 to 3 will be released gradually throughout the year, from February to December.
As a Cosmonaut, you’ll get instant access to Discover Your Soul’s Purpose and What Will Happen When, plus everything included under New Paradigmers. Segments 4 to 6 will take place live throughout the year, from February to December.
New Paradigmers enrollment is open year-round to everyone.
Cosmonauts and Sky Pilots are by application only.
If you’re new to the school and already have a basic understanding of Evolutionary Astrology, you may join at the Cosmonaut level after a brief interview with us.
To access the Sky Pilot program, you must be enrolled at the Cosmonaut level for at least one year.
New Paradimers includes a workbook for each class. These are for your reference and won’t be graded by the teachers. You can ask for help completing your workbook in the Telegram chat and during Q&A sessions.
While there is no formal exam at the Cosmonaut level, you’ll have the opportunity to practice chart interpretation in Study Groups, where students take turns giving readings with guidance from our teachers.
The “exam” occurs when transitioning from Cosmonaut to Sky Pilot. This involves submitting one of your Study Group readings to Kaypacha for final certification and the opportunity to begin one-on-one mentoring with him.
Although advancing to the Sky Pilot level is encouraged, it is not mandatory.
Upon certification, you’ll be featured on the NPA website as a New Paradigm Astrologer, with a brief bio, photo, and contact information to help promote your practice. As a certified astrologer, you’ll also remain an active member of the school and Telegram community, enjoying honorary membership as long as you stay active and engaged.
You’ll have opportunities to mentor other students, answer their questions, and even offer personal mentoring/readings for a fee if you choose.
Once certified, we recommend focusing primarily on personal readings to help individuals uncover their unconscious soul intentions. We plan to develop a Certification Level II program to prepare you for Synastry, Relationship & Composite chart readings. Mastery in these areas requires fluency, comfort, and experience, so we encourage you to gain expertise in natal chart readings before moving into relationship astrology.
Any extra courses purchased that are not part of the school enrollment will remain active in your account.
