Learn the art of chart interpretation with Kaypacha

Understand all the factors contributing to your experience of intimate relationships and partnerships.

video

An intimate relationship is perhaps the best means to grow and evolve, open your heart, and explore the inner recesses of your soul.

Beginning with family, the people closest to us and who love us the most reflect our own unconscious projections, hopes, dreams, and complexes. Love brings us both the highest highs and the lowest lows as we grow through each relationship to better know ourselves, our needs, desires, illusions, and weaknesses.

As your soul blueprint, your astrological birth chart can save you tremendous time and trouble as it reflects not only your innermost needs and desires but your soul history and current life intentions.

THE COURSE

In Part One of this course, we will analyze the planet VENUS, which symbolizes our feminine, receptive nature, and describes what/who we are attracted to, how we make ourselves attractive and how we receive.

On the other hand, MARS symbolizes our masculine, active nature, which describes what we desire, excites our animal nature, heats us, and how we go about getting it.

In addition to these two planetary bodies, we have the Sun (conscious purpose), and Moon (subconscious habit patterns), and the Moon’s nodes (past and future soul intentions). Combined with and conditioned by the signs they occupy and the aspects from other planets, all these factors reveal your deepest soul nature, strengths, challenges, shadows, and partnership needs.

Knowing yourself will also help you know who can best support your growth as well as bring excitement and fulfillment on physical/sexual, emotional, psychological, and spiritual levels.

After completing Part One of this 4-part course, you will understand all the factors contributing to your experience of intimate relationships and partnerships.

🔹 Part Two | SYNASTRY (coming in March 2023)
You will learn the art of chart comparison called synastry.
What houses of your chart do your partner’s planets fall in, and the aspects they make to your planets will reveal profound hidden dynamics and soul intentions that will blow your mind!

This information opens up new doors of perception, enabling you to see and go to levels of understanding each other that could take years or not even happen at all.

🔹 Part Three | COMPOSITE
You will learn the tools to interpret the composite chart.
This is an actual chart “of the relationship itself.” It is calculated by taking the midpoints of the planets in each partner’s chart, and it shows what the relationship itself is all about, where its roots are in past lives, and what the intention is for coming back together this life.

This chart, which describes what the two of you will be and do in the world as a unit, will also show your strengths and challenges as a couple. Then you can return to the individual synastry charts to see who is bringing what to the relationship to gain even greater insight and clarity of purpose.

🔹 Part Four | TRANSITS
Our last segment will bring in the past, present, and future transiting planets.
These timing factors show what areas of your life experience are getting activated and when. By following these transits in your chart, you will more deeply understand where you have been, are, and are going.

You will also see when your partner is going through something by looking at the synastry charts and how, why, where, and when your relationship will go through transformation.

🪐 This course is for intermediate to advanced students and requires a good understanding of the horoscope’s zodiac signs, planets, houses, and aspects.

Along with this course, we recommend Kaypacha’s Discover Your Soul’s Purpose course for natal chart interpretation and What Will Happen When for transit analysis. These courses will qualify you for the New Paradigm School of Astrology certification program.

By the end of these four courses, you will not only have great self-understanding, but you’ll also be able to help others navigate changes in their relationships!

Part One: Your Chart

January 7-8 & 21-22
8 am – 12 pm PST

Sessions will be recorded, replays available.

  • The Relational Nature of the Zodiac
    Saturday, January 7

Kaypacha’s approach to chart interpretation of the first six signs of the zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo. Kaypacha will share the nature of the sign, including a discussion of the element, modality, and its relationship to the zodiacal wheel. He will then share the relationship needs, approach, sexual nature, evolutionary intention, complexes, and patterns.

These will be further illuminated as he will then take the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the Moon’s node through each one of these signs. Finally, with your chart (and anyone else’s) and worksheet, you will take notes on your planetary placements, which will begin drawing your relationship profile.

  • The Relational Nature of the Zodiac | Part 2
    Sunday, January 8

Kaypacha will share the teachings of the remaining six zodiac signs: Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Woven throughout the explanations of the archetypes will be the houses that these signs rule in the natural zodiacal wheel and your “relationship houses” (4-8).

By the end of these two days, you will have a healthy grasp on what your soul intentions are seeking in relationship, what ways and types of strength, joy, and beauty you bring to your relationships, and what kind of “Astro-partner” is out there for you!

  • Planetary Aspects & House Positions
    Saturday, January 21

This day will be spent going through planetary aspects directly involved with relationships. An emphasis will be placed on Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, as these represent soul forces beyond the ego’s control that push our evolution forward, sometimes in unpleasant ways.

House positions, particularly the aspects of the personal planets and Moon’s nodes to the other planets, play a crucial role in understanding the deeper, underlying, unconscious complexes that surface through relationships.

  • Tying it all together.
    Sunday, January 22

This day will be spent answering questions and applying the knowledge to volunteers’ charts.

These will be chosen randomly, and there is no guarantee that your chart will be read. By volunteering, you agree that NPA can use and post the recording of your reading on the NPA site or in future NPA courses for educational purposes.

  • Required Reading

    • Skymates – Steven and Jodie Forrest (required)
    • Pluto: The Soul’s Evolution Through Relationships, Vol 2 – Jeffrey Wolf Green (suggested)

In addition, there will be numerous handouts and worksheets you’ll need to complete to get the most out of this course.

Now that we understand the relationship needs and indicators within an individual horoscope, we can take any two charts and analyze them to see the karmic (especially the good!) indications. Resolving old (often past lives) relationship issues and growing through new relationships are two primary means of soul evolution.

Astrology can help us see what dynamics exist within any significant relationship, whether old or new, what unique qualities each person brings to the relationship, and what is needed to fulfill its purpose.

Part Two is coming in March 2023. Final dates to be confirmed.

Day 1: The Past

We will study the synastry with regard to Pluto, the Moon’s nodes, and the Moon herself. These inter-chart aspects offer us a look into the history of the relationship, what has already happened, and what forms the basis of attraction/karma. Planets aspecting (especially conjunct) Pluto, the south node of the Moon, and/or the Moon describe the other person’s impact on the native in both positive and/or negative ways.

Day 2: House Positions

The houses of your chart occupied by another person’s planets and the houses of another person’s chart that your planets occupy indicate the field(s) of experience impacted by the planet in question. On day one, we looked at the house locations of Pluto, the Moon’s nodes, and the Moon. Today we will analyze the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the Ascendant to understand the relationship’s current life dynamics, strengths, and challenges.

Day 3: Synastry Aspects

The planetary aspects from one person’s chart to another provide a wealth of information that is even more specific regarding the “active energy” driving the relationship than the house positions studied yesterday. For example, what turns you on and what turns you off, how easy is the communication, and what will one person foster in the other or be irritated by? The answers to these and other compatibility questions arise through the study of inter-chart aspects.

Day 4: Tying It All Together

This day will cover anything not attended in the previous sessions and answer questions that arose within the chat. Finally, we will again use example charts from the student body volunteers (new ones, of course!) to demonstrate the techniques taught in the course. With the information provided in Part One and Part Two (with study and practice), you will be able to see, discuss, heal, and deepen the relationship between any two people!

Required Reading
  • Cosmic Love – Jan Spiller (required)
  • Inner Sky – Steven Forrest (suggested, especially if you’re a beginner)

Software

Kaypacha will use Solar Fire by Astrolabe for demonstration and interpretation purposes. This program is highly recommended if you are serious about pursuing your studies in relationship chart analysis, and prerequisite to complete Part 4 of this course.

Synastry and composite chart analysis are needed to understand what is going on in a relationship and when. The composite chart takes the midpoints of the planets and houses of two individual charts to create an independent chart of the relationship itself. Whereas natal birth charts are geographically located at a specific place and time, the composite chart is a theoretical chart having no particular date, time, or location.

It was first developed by John Townley in the 1970s and has proven to be amazingly useful in describing what two people (or more) do/achieve/experience when their energies are combined and when changes will occur within the relationship.

Final dates to be confirmed.

Day 1: Introduction

This day will be spent introducing the composite chart and walking through the steps of the New Paradigm Method of Chart Interpretation. Kaypacha will use several students’ charts (and their partner’s) to show you how to create the composite chart, what it means, and how to interpret it.

Day 2, 3 & 4: Learn by doing

Kaypacha’s motto is “learn by doing,” and this course will be no different! The composite chart shows the roots, intentions, and dynamics within a given relationship. The individual charts show who is bringing what to the relationship and causing/creating what is happening. By referring to both the composite chart and the individual charts, you get the total picture of what’s happening, who is initiating what, and how to best counsel the clients to help them navigate the changes within their relationship.

We will spend these days working with one relationship after another using both native charts and composite charts. Kaypacha will go step by step, looking at person A’s natal chart regarding relationship needs and desires, then person B’s.

We will then access the composite chart by seeing where each individual comes from on a soul level and what they seek to evolve through the relationship. Finally, using all three charts together, we’ll discover the deepest subconscious and unconscious needs and the ego desires that will make or break a relationship.

The website www.astro.com can be used to calculate and interpret the composite chart.

Every relationship grows and changes from the early romantic phase to deeper, more committed, and transformative stages. These changes can be seen, predicted, understood, and assisted by analyzing the transits occurring in both the native and composite charts. Again, the transits to the composite chart will show when the relationship is going through a change. In contrast, the transits to each individual’s chart will indicate what they are going through personally.

To illustrate the difference, let’s use an example of transiting Saturn going through the 4th house of the composite chart. We know that this indicates obstacles, blocks, limitations, and responsibilities connected to the home, roots, property, and family of the relationship. This transit could mean anything from the couple buying a new home (taking on the responsibility of a mortgage) to an infirm in-law moving into the house, creating challenges, burdens, and extra work for the couple that could have a profound impact on their relationship life.

The transit of Saturn going through the 4th house of the composite chart will give the times of the onset and conclusion of the event/condition and information about how it will affect the relationship by the aspects transiting Saturn makes to the other planets/houses of the composite chart.

The transiting aspects occurring within Person A and B will tell us how the event/condition will affect them, why they’ve attracted it on a soul level, whether they are the protagonist or the antagonist (if there is one), and what outcome may be expected.

Remember that as transits to the composite chart indicate dynamics occurring in a relationship, they do not necessarily point to the cause. Many factors can contribute to a change in a relationship, some being outside factors that bring the couple closer together or lead to differences and challenges. Using the same example, Saturn going through the composite 4th house could indicate the real estate market dropping or loan interest rates rising on the couple’s adjustable-rate mortgage. These outside influences are not initiated by either member of the relationship or under their control but will still impact both of them and their future.

Final dates to be confirmed.

Day 1: Transits to Jupiter-Pluto

We will review the transits of Jupiter to Pluto as well as the Moon’s nodes and the Progressed Moon. These slower-moving planets and points (less conscious and very powerful) indicate more profound, long-term changes occurring in the life of the native and/or couple.

We’ll look at their meanings through the houses and in aspect to the “personal planets,” Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars. Particular emphasis will be placed on transits that affect the “relationship houses and planets.”

Day 2: Learn by doing

We will use examples of individual student charts to demonstrate the principles and uses of the transits learned on Day 1.

Day 3: Tying it together

We will look at student relationships, including transits to each of their personal charts and the composite, just as an astrologer would for a relationship reading.

Day 4: Conclusion

Q&A session for questions you may have regarding any part of the course. Depending on the number and depth of the questions, we may have time for another example or two of a relationship analysis using the techniques we have learned together.

Kaypacha will use Composite (Midpoints). This type of composite chart takes the midpoints of the planets and houses of two individual charts to create an independent chart of the relationship itself.

It was first developed by John Townley in the 1970s and has proven to be amazingly useful in describing what two people (or more) do/achieve/experience when their energies are combined and when changes will occur within the relationship.

Evolutionary Astrology embraces paradigms and methodologies which specifically measure the growth of the soul from life to life. These methods invariably focus on the planet Pluto and its relationship to the Moon’s nodal axis. While it is composed of a set of specific formal methodologies, evolutionary astrology is ultimately characterized less by a technical approach than by a set of philosophical principles defined by natural law. Different evolutionary astrologers may use somewhat different interpretive methods, but they can always be recognized by a devotion to the following core perceptions:

1. An acceptance of the fact that human beings incarnate in a succession of lifetimes.
2. An acceptance of the fact that the birthchart reflects the evolutionary condition of the soul at the moment of incarnation.
3. An acceptance of the fact that the birthchart reflects the evolutionary intentions of the soul for the present life.
4. An acceptance of the fact that the circumstances of the present life, both materially and psychologically, do not arise randomly, but rather reflect the evolutionary intentions and necessities of the soul.
5. An acceptance of the fact that human beings interact creatively and unpredictably with their birthcharts; that all astrological symbols are multi-dimensional and are modulated into material and psychic expression by the consciousness of the individual.
6. An acceptance of the fact that human beings are responsible for the realities they experience, both internally and externally.
7. A respectful intention to accept and support a person seeking astrological help, no matter the evolutionary state in which such an individual finds himself or herself.
